The University Libraries held its 9th In-service Training with the theme “Facing the Advances and Challenges of Technology: Libraries in the 21st Century”, Friday, June 04, 2010 at Library Seminar Hall, University Libraries, Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation, Lucena City.

The In-Service Training started with the doxology “Lead me Lord” followed by National Anthem. Dr. Augusta Rosario Villamater, Director of University Libraries gave the welcome remarks while Dr. Benilda N. Villenas, Vice-President for Academic Affairs gave the inspirational message.

Miss Myrna P. Macapia, Periodicals Section and LUISS Librarian introduced the 55 participants of the said training. Mrs. Marietta Z. Enverga, in-charge of Reference/ Filipiniana Section gave the mechanics of the training.

Miss Geraldine Mallo, IGSRL Librarian introduced the 1st Lecturer for the said training, Miss Myrna P. Macapia, Periodicals Section (PS) & LUISS Librarian. She discussed the “Basics of Information Technology and Netiquettes.” She introduced and discussed the latest trends of information technology and importance of netiquettes.

For the afternoon session the 2nd Lecturer Mrs. Charlyn P. Salcedo, Circulation Reserve Section (CRS) Librarian was introduced. She discussed the “Basic Features and Functions of Follet.” She provided the 3 basics features of Follett and demonstrated the usage.

The Closing remark was given by Mr. Liberato Albacea, EMRC Coordinator. Mrs. Sheryl C. Farquerabao was the Master of the Ceremony.
